Maintenance Millwright

 

Latem and Plastico Industries operates in an 80,000 sq ft, 18-bay facility, directly off of Highway 401 in Cambridge, Ontario. We process more than 15 million parts each month and we are currently expanding our Maintenance team.

 

The primary duties of the Maintenance Millwright are:

 

Investigate mechanical and electrical issues and create corrective action plans
Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment
Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to plans, using hand and power tools, hoisting and rigging
Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other equipment
Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts as required
Use hand and power tools and welding equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and documentation
Ensure minimal down-time of equipment
Ensure machine efficiencies
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
Other duties as assigned
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Regulations

Requirements/ Qualifications:

Millwright license
G2 Gas Ticket preferred (but not essential. The wage would increase if a candidate has Gas and Millwright ticket.)
Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a manufacturing environment
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Solid trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
Ability to prioritize, plan and schedule work effectively with a production team in a fast paced and values driven environment
Strong organization and time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.

This position is for day shift with an occasional afternoon shift. The company offers a competitive benefit package, uniform allowance, safety shoe allowance and paid sick days.
